Kicking off in Kilmacthomas on Monday 10th June to 26th August the trail offers varied distances and obstacles to accommodate to both beginner and experienced runners. Behind the scenes at Achieve the team have been plotting and scheming to reinvent their trail runs, and will continue to every week throughout the summer series. So if you are brave enough to face the elements have your wits about you!

Glaoch an Cheoil, a groundbreaking new music project to be televised on TG4, needs you to share your talent by volunteering to teach people who are eager to master a musical instrument. Imagine an Ireland where everyone in the country has the chance to learn to play a musical instrument, from the fiddle to the guitar, the drums or even the saxophone. This is the driving ambition of Glaoch An Cheoil, a brand new 8 part series for TG4. The project aims to unite unused or discarded musical instruments with people who have always wanted to learn to play, but never had the opportunity.

Congratulations to Tramore Beach which retained its Blue Flag for 2013 and to Newtown Cove which regained its Green Coast Award.

Dungarvan TradFest 2013 features DANÚ in concert, the TradFest Céilí with Taylor’s Cross Céilí Band as well as many Pub Sessions, the Festival Club, Busking Competition, Recitals, Open Air Entertainment and Bucket Singing!

National Bike Week 2013 takes place from Saturday 15th to Sunday 23rd June 2013. Here in Co. Waterford this week long celebration of all things bike related is being jointly coordinated by Waterford County Council, Waterford Sports Partnership and Go Dungarvan. There are also 13 schools and community groups from all around the county who are directly involved in the organisation of events which make up the programme.

Waterford County Council’s Arts Office presents ‘Hurl’ by Carnation Theatre Company as part of their Bealtaine programme – Celebrating Creativity as we Age

AVENUE is an exciting new venture by Waterford’s main Arts Venues to establish an annual festival celebrating the wealth & diversity of arts spaces which define the character of the arts in the city. These main venues include Garter Lane, Greyfriars, Index Gallery, Hive Emerging, SOMA, Vulcan Artbox & the Waterford Healing Arts Trust.

The event took place on the 4th, 5th and 6th of May alongside the Martime Festival taking place aswell on that weekend. Congratulations to Barry Whitelaw who took the first overall event win, apparently he sailed his socks off!

On Sunday June 30th, The Ravens Rock Rally, the 4th round of the Dunlop National Rally Championship will be based along the Quays in Waterford City. The Rally is also a round of the South East Stages and the Southern 4 Rally Championship’s. For the first time since 2005, the rally will return to Waterford and for the 1st time since the Circuit of Ireland Rally last visited Waterford, a Rally will be based on the South Quays, with Head Quarters located at Dooley’s Hotel
