The Council would like to include motivational and inspiring stories from people all over the country who really enjoy going for a walk. They want to hear from people who walk regularly in the local park or beach, on a local forest trail or who take longer walks in the countryside with family or friends. Walkers are invited you to submit a “ What Walking Means to Me” story about how they discovered walking, why it’s important to them, how they feel after a good walk, who they walk with and most importantly what walking means to them.
Waterford is full of individuals and clubs who regularly explore our beautiful county and beyond on their own two feet. If you are a walker, why not take this great opportunity, to shout from the rooftops about walking in Waterford?
If you are interested in sending in your story, please send it to Jean Boydell in the National Trails Office by the end of August 2012. Please also include your contact details and a photograph or two of yourself or your walking group. ( jboydell@irishsportscouncil.ie)
All participants who submit a What Walking Means to Me story will receive a nice Dry Flow T-Shirt.
