What is the closing date for entries?
The closing date for receipt of entries is Tuesday 21st August 2012. There will be NO registration facility on the weekend of the event.
What is the entry fee?
Entry fee for the ‘Kelly Cruise’ (50k) is €10 for under 16's and €20 for over 16's. Entry fee for both the ‘Kelly Heritage’ (100k) and the ‘Kelly Comeragh Challenge’ (160k) is €40.
Is there any discount for members of Cycling Ireland (C.I.)?
Yes, Cycling Ireland members qualify for a 10% dscount on the entry fee. Entry fees for C.I. Members are as follows: 'Kelly Cruise’ (50k) is €9 for under 16's and €18 for over 16's. Entry fee for both the ‘Kelly Heritage’ (100k) and the ‘Kelly Comeragh Challenge’ (160k) is €36. To qualify for the discount C.I. members must insert their C.I. membership number on the online/postal entry for. This number will be verified with C.I.
Can I enter after the closing date of August 21st?
The answer in is an emphatic NO. This year the final closing date for entries is Tuesday 21st August. There will be no registration desks open on the weekend so all intending riders must either pre enter online or by post before the closing date or lose there chance to be part of this great event!
What does my entry fee include?
Your cycle entry pack includes; your acknowledgement/receipt, sponsorship information, route map and information about Dungarvan and County Waterford. On the day you will receive a souvenir Jersey and refreshments en route and at the finish along with cycle support services-not forgetting a safely, well marshalled route with over 400 volunteers giving of their time freely so that over 5000 cyclists can enjoy their day pedalling around County Waterford.
What if I can’t make it to the cycle on the day?
Unfortunately there is no facility for a refund.
How can I check that I am entered?
Online entrants will receive a confirmation email. Postal entrants will receive confirmation of entry along which will be posted out as entries are processed. (Posting of packs will commence in July 2012).
Can I change from one route to another after registration?

What time can I collect my goody bag on the weekend?
Saturday 25th August 2012 at Dungarvan Sports Centre from 2 to 8pm & on Sunday 26th August 2011 from 6:30 am.
What time does the event start at?
Start Time for the 10k Kelly Ten on Saturday 25th August is 11.30am
Start time for the 160k Kelly Comeragh Challenge on Sunday 26th August is 8.30am
Start time for the 100k Kelly Heritage Route on Sunday 26th August is 9.30am
Start time for the 50k Kelly Cruise on Sunday 26th August is 10.30am
The official start for all three routes (excluding the Kelly Ten which will take place on Saturday 25th August from the Plaza in front of Dungarvan Shopping Centre) is Dungarvan Sports Centre. Get there in good time so that you can enjoy the atmosphere. Stewards will direct all riders from the sign-on to the official start.
Is there free car-parking?
Yes Car-Parking will be provided at locations around Dungarvan. No Car-parking will be provided in the vicinity of Dungarvan Sports Centre. We ask all riders intending to drive to give due consideration to local residents. Follow stewards instructions and parking signage.
Are there changing and shower facilities?
Yes. Dungaravan Sports Centre will act as event HQ for the day. Services on offer there will include changing/shower facilities, post-event refreshments, post event sports massage etc.
What do I need to bring with me?
A hard shell helmet is compulsory for every participant. Don’t forget your bike, spare tube, pump, gear, food and drink (there are food stations on the route but it is always safer to bring your own. You will need it!) Also don’t forget to bring a sense of fun!
Where are the Food Stops?
‘Kelly Cruise’- Food Stop: Cappoquin Community Centre (30kms). Water Stop: Villierstown (20kms).
‘Kelly Heritage Route’- TBC
'Kelly Comeragh Challenge’- Food Stops: Hillview Sports Club, Clonmel (55kms.) and Rathgormack Hiking Centre (100kms). Water/fruit stop: St. Mollerans Gaa Club, Carrickbeg (40kms), Ballymacarbry Community Centre (75kms), St. Brigids Hall, Kilrossanty (130kms) and Kilbrien Parish Hall (140kms).
Toilet facilities will be available at all FOOD & WATER STOPS
Must I be over a certain age?
Yes. For insurance reasons all participants riding the ‘Kelly Cruise’ must be aged 10 and over on 26th August 2012. For both the ‘Kelly Heritage Route’ and the ‘Kelly Comeragh Challenge’ participants must be aged 16 and over on 26th August 2012. For the 10k Kelly Ten on Saturday 25th August 2012 cyclists under 12 must be accompanied by an adult and it is recommended that all independend cyclists on this route are at least 7 years or over.
Do I need permission from a parent/guardian to participate?
Yes, if you are under 18 you must have permission from a parent/guardian (signature required on entry form).
What will the weather be like?
This is late summer in the ‘Sunny South East’ so pleasant weather should be the order of the day. However should we experience the odd drop or two of rain all participants would be well advised to bring some wet weather gear. Please ensure to drink plenty of water. Let's be optomistic-Bring your sunscreen!
What first-aid facilities will be available on the day?
First-Aid will be provided on the day by the Civil Defence and Irish Red Cross, supported by South Eastern Mountain Rescue Association. There will also be service vehicles (mechanical difficulties) and the infamous broom wagon, so if it all gets too much transport to the finish will be provided where possible. If you do get into difficulty please notify event personnel immediately.
Where is the official finish?
All 3 routes finish on the Look Out adjacent to Dungarvan Sports Centre (The 10k Kelly Ten starts at Dungarvan Shopping Centre and finishes in Walton Park, Abbeyside). At the Sports Centre participants can expect refreshments, shower/changing and toilet facilities as well as that all important sports massage.
Will I get a well earned massage when I reach the finish?
Yes. Local experienced sports massage therapists will be on hand after the event to soothe those aching limbs. This is all part of the Waterford Welcome and it will be appreciated by all participants after a hard day in the saddle. This service is included as part of your entry fee but we ask participants to be considerate to our massage therapists-A massage consists of a 5 minute leg rub-NOT A FULL BODY TREATMENT!
Is this cycle for any particular charity?
Yes, we are delighted to announce that in 2012 there will be not one but two nominated charities. For the three Sunday routes the Irish Kidney Association is the charity check out www.ika.ie for more detials. For Saturday's Kelly Ten, local charity Becky's Beat is this year's chosen charity, check out www.beckysbeat.ie for more detials. It is optional for each rider whether or not they wish to raise money for either charity but we sincerely hope that most can raise a little for one (or both!) of these great causes.
