Golf
If playing a round or two of golf is top of the list for someone in your group or family’s, there’s plenty of choice around County Waterford for golf enthusiasts.
From east to west, the county has a selection of golf courses to choose from, for all levels of golfer. Waterford offers players a variety of courses which differ greatly from anything else available in the country.
East Waterford
Close to Waterford city, on an island in the River Suir lies Waterford Castle Golf Club accessible by its very own car ferry. Further downriver, is Faithlegg, a golf course on a 200-acre estate on the banks of the Suir. At the mouth of the Suir is Dunmore East Golf Club which commands views of the fishing village of Dunmore East as well as the Irish Sea and the Suir Estuary. Not too far away is Tramore Golf Club, one of the oldest in Ireland and home to the Irish Close Championship in 2015. Carrick on Suir is home to both Carrick on Suir Golf Club and the course, range and putting green at Tinhalla.
West Waterford
To the west of the county, Dungarvan is home to three golf courses, Gold Coast Golf Course, Dungarvan Golf Club and West Waterford Golf and Country Club. The course at Lismore Golf Club, further inland, commands views of the historic Lismore Castle from some of its greens. See what's is store at the club in their 2012 Diary.
